Senior Kynnedy Flannel rolled to a trio of event victories to pace Alvin High School at the 23-6A/24-6A Area Track and Field meet Thursday in Pearland.

Flannel, who joined four Yellowjacket teammates with regional qualifying berths, leaped 19 feet and 2 inches to win the girls’ long jump competition, while completing the 100 meter dash in 11.74 seconds and the 200 meters in 23.92 seconds.

Flannel combined with Tobechekwu Phillips, Madison Krailo and Lauryn Davis for a fourth place in the girls’ 4X100 relay (48.30 seconds), while Phillips also qualified for regionals with a fourth place in the 100 meters (12.42 seconds) and Noah Powell punched a ticket to Turner Stadium in Humble for next weekend (April 27-28) with a fourth place in the boys’ 200 meters (21.97 seconds), as well.

At the 23-5A/24-5A Thursday area meet in Katy, Shadow Creek’s Hailey Pollard won the girls’ discus toss with a throw of 150 feet and 6.75 inches, while also claiming top honors in the shot put with a heave of 39 feet and 7.50 inches.

Manvel’s Kameryn Alexander leaped 21 feet and 7.75 inches to win the boys’ long jump, while Lady Maverick Sydnee Williams did likewise in the girls’ 100 meter hurdles at 14.79 seconds and Lady Shark Daija Reese captured the girls’ 100 meters at 12.00 seconds.

Second places for Manvel went to Adam Mason in the boys’ 800 meters (1:59.21), the 4X100 boys’ relay (3:23.14), the Manvel girls in the 4X400 relay (3:56.58), Aryn Johnson in the girls’ 100 meter hurdles (15.15 seconds), Tre Guerra in the boys’ 110 hurdles (14.96 seconds) and Ce`Cori Tolds in the boys’ long jump (21-04). Finishing in third place was Jeffrey Garrison in both the boys’ 1600 (4:49.25) and 3200 meters (10:37.19), the Manvel boys’ 4X100 (42.13 seconds) and 4X200 (1:28.37) relays, the Manvel 4X200 girls’ relay (1:44.22) and Ja`dasia Sims in the girls’ high jump (4-10). Fourth places included Layden Robinson in the girls’ triple jump (45-00), Alaysia Woodard in the girls’ 100 (12.56 seconds), Sims in the girls’ 400 (59.13 seconds), Maya Landgrebe in the girls’ 3200 (14:40.23) and Tolds in the boys’ high jump (5-06).

Collecting runner-up finishes for Shadow Creek was the boys’ 4X100 (42.09 seconds) and 4X200 (1:27.97) relays, Deante Betts in the boys’ high jump (5-10), Demetria Phipps in the girls’ long jump (17-06), N`shari Jefferson in the girls’ triple jump (36-05.75) and Morgan Shelton in the girls’ discus toss (98- 00.75). Third places belonged to Victoria Wright in the girls’ 100 (12.22 seconds), Shelton in the girls’ shot put (34-06.50), Jor`tavion Carmack in the boys’ 400 (49.55 seconds) and Jerald Thompson in the boys’ 800 (2:01.24).
